REGAN CHARLTON
Partner
Regan is passionate about serving the individual needs of her clients. She ensures that there are open lines of communication and that she is available for her clients both on a day-to-day basis and whenever the unexpected arises. Regan is a strong and skilled litigator with significant trial experience. She also understands the complexities of family law, whether that be novel legal issues or complicated personal dynamics. Regan’s zealous, yet professional, approach leads to consistent, positive results for her clients.
Regan is a native Idahoan. She graduated from Boise State University, magna cum laude. While at Boise State, Regan served as the captain of the Speech and Debate Team, was a Speech and Debate All American and National Champion. Regan received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho, College of Law where she was on the Dean’s List and on the editing board of the Idaho Law Review.
Upon graduation, Regan practiced family law and civil litigation in Jackson, Wyoming, and then Boise, Idaho. Regan served as a partner at the prestigious family law firm, Bevis, Thiry, & Schindele from 2018- 2021. While there, she received the Idaho Business Review’s Leaders in Law award in the Partner category.
Regan currently serves as a board member on the Idaho State Bar’s Family Law Section and is a member of the Professionalism and Ethics Section.
Outside of the practice of law, Regan enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and stepchildren, taking part in many of the outdoor recreational activities Idaho has to offer including snow skiing, running, mountain biking, camping, and water skiing.
JOHANNES S. A. CLAUS III
Attorney
Johann has a passion for keeping families together and works hard to ensure that his clients are awarded as much time with and support for their children as possible, always keeping in mind the best interests of the children. Johann has enjoyed raising his kids in Idaho and loves spending time with them; especially skiing in the winter and boating in the summer. Along with experiencing the great outdoors in our great state, Johann enjoys cooking, traveling, and is always on the lookout for new recipes and destinations.

Johann served in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate from 2005 to 2013, including tours in Turkey and Iraq. While in the military, Johann advised families on issues relating to adoption, guardianship, custody, and divorce. After leaving the military, Johann worked as a Public Defender in Twin Falls and Canyon County from 2015 to 2018. Since 2018, Johann has been practicing in family law and criminal matters.
Johann is a long-time Idahoan, graduating from Borah High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Boise State University in 2001 with a double major in Spanish and German. Johann graduated from the Northwestern University School of Law in 2004. Johann speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently, and is competent in German as well.
MELISSA PETERSON
Paralegal
Melissa is an experienced paralegal in the field of family law. She is both efficient and detail-oriented, providing clients with timely responses and professional work-product at an economical value. She is an incredible asset to Charlton Law.
